Text Box: The Inca worshipped the spirits of their ancestors, heroes, their king and nature e.g. sun, moon etc. On their calendar, each month had its own festival. The Inca had several cults, the main cult worshipped Inti, the sun god who nourished man and the earth with his rays. The Inca believed in Hanan and Hurin which basically meant that they believed women inferior to men. Sacrifice was a big part of their religion and they made daily sacrifices but human and animal sacrifices were only made on major occasions like when there was a new Inca they sacrificed 200 children, or when there was famine etc. Divination was also a part of everyday life, everything from illness, to who committed what crime, and what sacrifice they should make to which god, was decided by consulting the oracles (Observing the placing of cocoa leaves, observing the movements of a spider, drinking a hallucinogen, or even looking at the markings on a sacrificed lama's lungs). The Inca believed that the world was made of three things, the Uku Pacha, Kay Pacha, and Hanan Pacha Or the past, present and future.
