SocietyText Box: Inca society was strict. The Sapa Inca was the most important and was said to be the son of the sun and a direct descendant of one of the gods. The royal family is next. after the royal family there are regional rulers which were in charge of collecting taxes. All the peasants and commoners belonged to an Allyu which was basically a family clan. They helped build houses and helped each other out.
